ABOUT SLAVA PTRK
Slava Ptrk has a journalistic education. He usually works with surrounding social and political reality. Slava tries to make his artworks clear, concise, sharp, topical, and whenever possible interactive, as well as inscribed in the physical and informative context of the place. Artist states: "My major instrument is irony. I sneer at the absurdity that is happening around, the absurdity of Russian reality (and other countries, sometimes) is both an issue and a ground for new works for me". Tools, specific genres and media are no longer essential - it can be drawings, actions or just posts on Facebook. Slava's preferable technics are stencils, posters, muralism, installations, urban interventions. As time goes, Slava prefers moving and experimenting without focusing on one thing.
