The education received in the field of architecture and design at Baltic University in St. Petersburg has influenced the art of Olga Batyrshina. The artist's work revolves around the soulless urban territory surrounding all of us. People create an unnatural, alienated environment with their own hands, in which they are then forced to exist. This new ecosystem aggressively built and developed by man transforms into megacities, with uniform buildings, sleeping quarters, gigantic factories, and disfigured landscapes. All of these cause the transformation of the natural ecosystem into artificial, as well as the genesis of a so-called "new nature". This is the main subject of Olga's creative research which she explores by means of mixed media and photography.
